Ozone to replace UV

UV is powerful but expensive to operate. Ozone is euqally effective and the operation costs are only 10% for our living roon display tank.

Ozone as effictive as UV?

Both water purification methods have have been in place for years and have been proven powerful…

Why Ozone?

To run Ozone on this 1.200 l show tank it requires only 4 W of electricity for the ozonizer. A UV light would need 55W and an anual replacement of the UV bulb.

Artificial Rocks

Artificial rocks

Mattenfilters are very powerfull, but ugly to look at. Hence we decided to build more decorative filters.

Backtonature rocks

These rocks won’t release minerals and this means the PH of the tank water will stay stable.

LSL SOLUTION

LSL installed filter mats at the back of these rock and uses common power head, pumps, and canister filters for the water flow.

Mike’s Cichlids

Mike’s Discus

Mike wanted to fulfil his dream to have a piece of the Amazon river at his living room. Him, LSL, and the tank maker created a South American tank that is easy to maintain.

MIKE’S TANK

Mike keeps 7 wild caught discus fish, 2 geophagus, various wild caught corydoras, and tetras. The fish are doing great. Mike doesn’t need to conduct too many water changes as his tank filtration is really good. He just enjoys the hobby.

LSL SOLUTION

LSL installed a Nitrate King and a Silicium bead king. The main return pump for the tank was chosen powerful enough to flow water through both LSL reactors. We used a T connection from the main pump system and added an extra T valve connection.

HOW OUR PRODUCT BENEFITS HIM?

Mike measures very low Nitrate levels. The perfect 0. Water changes he conducts 2-3 times per month.

He only has to recharge the Nitrate King every 4 weeks, which takes approx. 1.5 hours. The Silicium Bead King has to be back flushed every 4 weeks.

His tank has no issues with germs as if he was running a UV light. His Silicium Bead King does not consume any power, hence he can enjoy a low electricity/water bill.

“I am new in the hobby and from friends and fellow hobbyists I heard that South American Cichlids are very sensitive.

Mark’s New Ray Tank

Mark decided to place his new 5x3x3 ft directly on the floor and run it with an overhead sump filtration.

At his first tank he recently added the LSL Nitrate King to controll his high nitrate levels successfully. Hence he wanted to have the same option for his new tank.

LSL SOLUTION

The solution was to add an extra pump at the end of the overhead sump filtration, and pump water from there into the Nitrate King and back into the tank.

HOW OUR PRODUCT BENEFITS HIM?

Low nitrate levels of almost 0, despite having huge stockings with a massive bioload in his tank.

Yet the intervals of the water changes have been extended to more than a week.

The only job to be done is to echarge the Nitrate King every 4 weeks but that allows customers to spend more time enjoying the hobby, instead of changing water.

The Nitrate King was huge yet quiet. During the first visit, LSL and me took time to figure out the best configuration to accommodate to my current sump design.

What was impressive was that it worked so fast in bringing down the nitrates within 24hrs and maintenance was easy.

The shape of the Nitrate King also made it easy to fit into my sump tank compartment.

The Nitrate King solves the hassle of weekly water change, reduces my water bill and saves my time! The Nitrate level dropped from 80ppm to less than 20ppm.

It is suited for tanks with many fishes who requires heavy feeding. I was shopping around for an economic solution and I am glad I found LSL! Convinced with the performance, I bought a second nitrate king for my 5x3x2.5ft tank”, Mark.

Desmond just started fish keeping. His UV light was not working very well, as it has been used for 2 years and the bulb was supposed to replaced.

Desmond keeps various species of tetras. He got the tank from one of his friends but number of fish kept getting smaller and the water looked cloudy. One reason might have been the UV light’s bulb has been in use for too long and need to be replaced.

LSL SOLUTION

Instead of purchasing a ne bulb, Desmond went for a Silcium Bead King. The pump of his canister filter was powerful to flow enough water through the Silicium Bead King, we used the existing T connection at the outlet of the canister filter.

HOW OUR PRODUCT BENEFITS HIM?

The tank water became clear again. Now Desmond only has to check the flow of the Silicium Bead King every now and then and doesn’t need to worry about faulty bulbs anymore. He spends lesser money on electricty now, as the Silicum Bead King doesn’t need power and is less error-prone.

The Silicium Bead King has to be back flushed every 4 weeks, which is a 10 minutes job, yet reduces germs like his previous UV light, but runs completely without electricity and doesn’t require any spare parts.

I was a newbie but the innovative LSL products convinced me and made it easier to maintain my tank.

So I went for the Silicium Bead King setup to take care of germs and bad bacteria. The installation was done quickly and the monthly maintenance is straight forward.

LSL helped organised the setup in a very neat and functional way.

Lloyd’s Arowana

Lloyd had a feeling spending to much time changing water of his tank. Therefore he decided to ad a Nitrate King which helps him to cut down the water changes.

Lloyd keeps a stunning Arowana fish, and some angel fish. The fish were doing great, Lloyd was just hoping to cut down on the water changes.

LSL SOLUTION

Lsl installed a Nitrate King. We just use an affordable 1000 l/hour and some hoses pump to pump water from the sump through the Nitrate King. This was a cost effictive and time saving solution.

HOW OUR PRODUCT BENEFITS HIM?

The Nitrate levels of his tank went to almost 0.

From now onwards he has to conduct lesser water changes. He only has to recharge the Nitrate King every 4 weeks, which takes approx. 1.5 hours.

His Arowana should grow much faster from now onwards as Nitrate is know to slow the growth of fishes.

He can enjoy a lower electricity/water bill and spend more time with his family.

Mark’s Arowana Ray Dream

Mark was struggling with high nitrage levels in his tank. It might be the case due to the high bioload, despite the massive biological filtration he has set up. We are glad and proud we could help.

PROBLEM

Mark owns a really nice collection of five asian Arowana and 8 large sting rays. He is housing them in a 6 x 2.5 x 2.5 foot tank. The fish were doing phenomenal, Mark just wanted to cut down on the water changes.

LSL SOLUTION

LSL took the challenge and proposed to install a Nitrate King. The existing pump for the UV light was powerful enough to flow water into our Nitrate King , so we installed a “T” connector from the pump going to the UV light and the Nitrate King.

HOW OUR PRODUCT BENEFITS HIM?

Derek’s Discus Paradise

Derek was measuring high nitrage levels after increasing the bioload. His UV light was not installed in a very nice way and after running it for 1.5 years he was supposed to replace the UV bulb.

Derek’s Tank

Derek keeps 15 wild caught discus fish, various wild caught corydoras, and tetras. The fish were doing great, just Derek wanted to cut down on the water changes and decided to remove the UV light due to the high operation costs and the hassle changing the bulb.

LSL SOLUTION

LSL installed a Nitrate King and a Silicium bead king. The existing pump for the UV light was powerful to flow enough water through both, we used the existing T connection from the main pump system and added an extra T valve connection.

HOW OUR PRODUCT BENEFITS HIM?

Derek reduced the Nitrate levels of his tank from 60 to almost 0.

The frequency of his water changes was reduced significantly, to once a week instead of 2-3 times per week.

He only has to recharge the Nitrate King every 4 weeks, which takes approx. 1.5 hours. The Silicium Bead King has to be back flushed every 4 weeks, reduces germs like his previous UV light, but runs completely without electricity and doesn’t require any spare parts.

Now Derek enjoys a view with lesser cables in the cabinet and can enjoy a lower electricity/water bill.

As my bioload is pretty heavy, my nitrate went up to the red zone. I learnt of this Nitrate King product from LSL and was very keen to try it out. I measured my nitrate level 1 day after setup of the Nitrate King and voilà my nitrate went down to zero!

I also got the uv sterilizer replaced, as it wasn’t fixed properly by the tank maker and I wanted one less electrical item in the sump cabinet. So I got the Silicium Bead King setup as well to take care of germs and bad bacteria.

Impressed with the products and the excellent setup service. LSL helped organised the setup in a much more neat and functional way.
